Marshmallow Rice Krispies for cakes

I received this recipe below from Carol Hogg of the Waitakere Cake Club. You will have seen Rice Krispie treats used in many of the cake decorating shows.


MARSHMALLOW RICE CEREAL  - Tastes Good -

Use as shapes for modelling or even a cake.

50 g Unsalted Butter  -  Salted will do

200g   White or White & Pink “Mr.Mallow” Marshmellows

160g   Rice Bubbles 

Melt butter over low heat, add marshmellows stir until melted. (Don’t leave

It, it will burn)  When melted stir a further minute.   Take off heat.

Stir in the cereal and stir until coated.  Then shape as needed.

  1. Oh once made stuff is incredibly sticky .... when trying to shape it, ensure your hands have a light coating/spray of some type of oil/butter( or non-stick product you use .
    I have also shaped it inside baking paper -as does not stick to paper.
